The Bundesliga resumes this weekend and the league leaders will have both Perisic and leading goalscorer Robert Lewandowski back in contention, two players who were out at the time of the forced break.

The Nerazzurri loanee faces an uncertain future, as Die Roten contemplate sending him back to San Siro despite having the option to sign the player on a permanent deal for around €20m.

Last week, Corriere dello Sport claimed the two clubs must reach an agreement within the month and another loan deal could be in the making due to the financial impact on both clubs during the coronavirus pandemic.

Perisic has contributed four goals and five assists in his 15 games so far this campaign and his current deal at the Giuseppe Meazza expires in June 2022.
