Palermo sporting director Giorgio Perinetti will stay at the club for the time being – but doesn't too sound enthusiastic about it.

The official moved to the Rosanero from Siena at the same time Coach Giuseppe Sannino did. Now that Sannino has become the first coaching casualty in Serie A – and Maurizio Zamparini’s 41st – questions are inevitably being asked about Perinetti's future at the club.

“The first time that President Zamparini, two years ago, asked me about Sannino I said he wasn’t ready for Serie A,” the former Bari director said at the unveiling of Sannino's successor Gian Piero Gasperini earlier today.

“The decision to appoint Sannino is on him, and he doesn’t deny it.”

“The President knows that I am available for as long as it’s deemed necessary. Otherwise I will resign.”
