The Genoa man has been touted as one of the best young No.1’s in European football, playing an integral part in the Grifone’s season.

The 21-year-old has been linked with the likes of Juventus and Milan, but former Pescara loanee has admitted that tennis is his other passion.

“Tennis players and goalkeepers are very much the same,” he told Il Secolo XIX.

“Both work and train alone, but have to have high levels of concentration to succeed in what they do – it’s something I can relate to.

“A tennis player however, has the ability to release tension by hitting a ball every few seconds. For a goalkeeper, you might not touch the ball for 89 minutes, but then in the last minute you’re called into action.

“That’s what the very best are able to do, and it’s an aspect of the game that I want to keep working on.”
