La Dea’s biggest match of the year is right around the corner and PSG are waiting in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

But the hero from the meeting with Valencia in the last 16, Ilicic, will not be there.

“I’ll call him [Ilicic] before and after the match, as if he were to play it too,” Percassi told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I hope to see him on the pitch again for next season.

“Actually, I believe I will.”

Pierliugi Gollini fights to be back in time for the game against the French champions, but Percassi thinks Sportiello will grab the opportunity with both hands if he gets it.

“Marco is an excellent goalkeeper. I would define it as an important opportunity rather than fate: if he plays well.

When asked if he believes Atalanta can advance to the semi-finals of the competition, Percassi shifted the attention to the Nerazzurri captain.

“Our great Papu will drag everyone along. Nobody knows Atalanta and Bergamo better than him and the importance of setting an example.

“Here, he became the perfect captain.”
