Fabio Pecchia admitted his ‘anger’ after Verona’s late capitulation denied them a vital victory against SPAL.

Heading into the final five minutes in Ferrara, the Scaligeri were two goals up and on course to move above their opponents and out of the relegation zone.

However, Alberto Paloschi’s goal gave the hosts hope before Mirco Antenucci netted a penalty to salvage a dramatic 2-2 draw for Leonardo Semplici’s side.

However, Alberto Paloschi’s goal gave the hosts hope before Mirco Antenucci netted a penalty to salvage a dramatic 2-2 draw for Leonardo Semplici’s side.

“It makes me angry to look at this result,” a clearly disappointed Pecchia commented. “We had the match under control.

“SPAL did well to keep us there until the end and get a draw.”

Despite the late double setback, the Verona Coach is adamant his side’s fortunes are turning around.

“I continue to see confirmation of our improving performances and the growth of the group.”
