Napoli striker Leonardo Pavoletti will join Cagliari tomorrow, according to reports, on loan with option to buy.

The forward joined the Partenopei from Genoa last January, but injury problems and the form of Dries Mertens meant he didn’t make a single Serie A appearance.

It’s therefore all-but certain he’ll leave the San Paolo this summer, and Tuttomercatoweb believes he’ll join Cagliari tomorrow.

The Isolani have lost last season’s top-scorer Marco Borriello to SPAL, so are in need of reinforcements up front.

The website expects a €2m loan, with the Sardinian side having the option to buy Pavoletti outright next summer for €12m.

It’s not clear if this would become an obligation after a certain number of appearances or goals.
