Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has launched a surprising attack on the club's star player Javier Pastore after last night's 1-0 defeat to Napoli.

The Rosanero looked all set to return to Sicily with a hard-earned point, only for Christian Maggio to score a 95th minute winner for Napoli.

"Salvatore Sirigu was excellent," Zamparini said. "He showed the level that he's at. But this Palermo didn't work from any point of view.

"It's a big lesson that we must learn and a deserved defeat…

"Some of our players already had their heads in the dressing room. Take Pastore who was unwatchable for the entire game.

"If he hadn't committed that mistake in midfield in the last few seconds of the game, we probably wouldn't have conceded a goal."
