The Argentine sensation moved to PSG in the summer after Palermo accepted a €42m offer from the French outfit.
“I would have wanted to stay in Italy because it is a country that I love a lot, it’s a place where I spent two magnificent years,” Pastore told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Your football is the most beautiful and it would be even more so if you turned more to younger players.
“In Italy a 24-year-old is considered as a youngster when, in fact, he is already a mature footballer.”
Turning to the differences between top-flight football in Italy and France, Pastore noted that he was enjoying the freedom of Ligue 1.
“There is less tactical discipline here,” he continued. “It’s not as organised, but football is more physical and open here.
“It’s easier to score goals.”
Meanwhile, Pastore congratulated Inter for signing Ricky Alvarez in the summer – a player who has been compared to Javier.
“He quickly rose in Argentina and he’s now just adapting to football in Italy,” he added. “If he’s fit and well then he’ll show that he really is strong.”
