CEO Mario Passetti has confirmed Cagliari are in talks with Inter defender Diego Godin but admitted ‘it’s a difficult negotiation’.
The Uruguayan defender has been linked with the Rossoblu in recent days and sporting director Pierluigi Carta revealed Godin is interested in a move to Sardinia.
Reports have claimed Godin, who joined Inter as a free agent last summer from Atletico Madrid, could terminate his contract with the Nerazzurri or move on loan with an option to buy.

CEO Passetti stressed the deal is ‘complicated’ and said Cagliari are studying the numbers to see if they can close a deal with the veteran.
“There’s a negotiation, it’s useless to deny it,” Passetti told Sky Sport Italia. “However, it’s a difficult negotiation.
“Let’s not be under any illusions. We are looking to understand if we can reach an agreement, but there are complications.”
