Milan have paid Olympique Lyonnais €500,000 to purchase the Romania international, who signed a three-year contract with the Rossoneri.

“From this new adventure with Milan, I expect to play good football, to be part of a really strong squad and to finish higher in the table than last season,” Tatarusanu told Milan TV.

“I think I can help bring balance to the squad, because it’s currently very young and I think I can help with that.”

The Romanian arrived from Olympique Lyonnais to become Gianluigi Donnarumma’s understudy and he praised the young Italy international.

“Like the whole world, in the beginning, no one knew who he was, but he immediately proved to be ready to play for a club like Milan,” Tatarusanu added. “Now, he has the experience and is even stronger.

“I hope to get on well with him.”

The 34-year-old revealed Stefano Pioli, who he worked with at Fiorentina, welcomed him to the club.

“Yes, I have spoken to the coach, he welcomed me to the club. He told me he was happy we could work together again, and he looks forward to have me in the squad in training.”

“I also played with Ante Rebic at Fiorentina, but we didn’t stay in touch. I’m curious to see him and talk to him again.”

In training, Tatarusanu looks forward to be up against Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and sent a message to the fans.

“It’s certainly better to be on the same team as players who shoot very well, that way, things are easier in matches.

“I’m proud of being here, I can’t wait to see you [the fans] at the stadium. Forza Milan.”
