Fiorentina captain Manuel Pasqual admits he’s ‘disappointed’ to lose Mohamed Salah, but is sure he’ll be replaced.

The Egyptian winger spent the second half of last season on loan with the Viola, as part of the deal which took Juan Cuadrado to Chelsea.

However, the former Basel man opted not to return to Artemio Franchi, vetoing the deal after the Tuscan side had taken up their option on him.

“Everyone is free to make their own choices,” Pasqual told Sky when asked about Salah.

“But there are different ways of doing things. In terms of the team I’m disappointed, as we’ve lost a great player, but the club will manage to capture someone.”

Salah is not the only change in Florence this summer, with Coach Vincenzo Montella also leaving, being replaced by Paulo Sousa.

“It’s changed a lot, starting with the staff. Sousa asks us to recover the ball quickly, and then hold on to it.

“I arrived late to the pre-season training camp, but the team is happy with the work we’re doing. We want to achieve important results.

“Fourth place? It’ll be difficult to do it again, we’ve lost a lot of players and others are coming back. We’ll do our best, of course.”
