“I was confident my client could be called up and I’m very happy for him, as this repays him for all the effort throughout his career,” agent Gastone Rizzato told Calciomercato.com.
“He is very happy, albeit aware this is a provisional squad. Prandelli called Pasqual because he is technically strong in that role, can play in many different positions and is a model professional.
“I think Pasqual is fighting with Torino full-back Darmian for that spot in the final list of 23.
“Italy are not the strongest team in the World Cup, but the important thing is to arrive in good shape and get that little bit of luck.”
