Parma’s Marco Parolo thinks he’s proved a point by celebrating his 100th game in the Italian top-flight.

The former Cesena man reached his century of matches in the 0-0 draw with Lazio on Sunday afternoon.

“It was an important goal because my teammates sometimes said that you aren’t a Serie A player if you haven’t made 100 appearances,” said the Italian international.

“I’m happy to have reached the 100 with Parma, but I want to continue to contribute and I am sure that I can do even more than I have done.

“I want to start from the good base of this year to improve in the future.”

The 28-year-old midfielder moved to the Stadio Tardini outfit from the Seahorses on a loan deal in July 2012.

“I think I have given my contribution, as well as proved that I was always ready when called into action,” he continued.

“I am satisfied with my first year at Parma, particularly with a good first half of the season. In the second half there was a little drop – maybe I was lacking two or three more goals…

“There are still four matches to go and I want to score in them.”

Parolo has netted twice in 32 League games this term. Nobody at Parma has played in more Serie A matches in 2012-13.
