Marco Parolo assures Italy “will play with fire inside us” against Spain and can’t wait to meet “idol” Andres Iniesta.

The Round of 16 tie kicks off on Monday at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

“It’ll be a tough game, a difficult one, but we are preparing well and will play with fire inside us,” Parolo told UEFA.

“We are getting ready in the best possible way and will try to face Spain with enthusiasm and hunger. Above all, we must play aware of the journey we’ve made so far.

Lazio midfielder Parolo is particularly looking forward to the encounter with Spain and Barcelona star Iniesta.

“He is an extraordinary players and one of my idols, as he was already playing at a high level when I was still working my way up the ladder.

“It’ll be such an emotional moment to face him. The only way to stop such a remarkable player is as a team, all together. If we manage that, we can limit an incredible player for Spain.”
