Parma midfielder Marco Parolo is hoping his form will be good enough to be involved in the World Cup next summer.

The former Cesena man is back on Cesare Prandelli’s radar and he’s having a season to remember thanks to six goals in 15 League games this term.

“The World Cup? I can’t do more than what I am currently doing,” stated the 28-year-old after he netted in the 3-3 draw with Inter.

“I have to just continue on this road and I want to make it as difficult as possible for Prandelli when it comes to picking his squad.”

Parolo has won two caps to date – the last coming in November’s friendly against Nigeria.

“We could have won the game,” added Parolo when questioned about the draw with Inter on Sunday night.

“We created a lot of chances, we had a chance to make it 4-3 even if we then could have lost the game as well.

“We are a team on the rise and I think we are four of five points short of what we deserve in the standings.”

Parma are joint ninth in the standings after grabbing 18 points from their 15 games so far.
