Parma midfielder Marco Parolo has backed teammate Antonio Cassano to make the Italy squad for the World Cup.

The striker has been in great form for Roberto Donadoni’s men this term, with some calling for his return to the Azzurri fold.

And the 29-year-old has claimed that the Crociati goalscorer can make Cesare Prandelli’s shortlist.

“I’m delighted that Antonio is doing so well,” he told Radio Bruno. “I hope he continues with this form.

“I know that it is his dream to play at the World Cup, as it is with all players.

“I, personally, hope he keeps doing well for Parma, and then, once the end of the season comes round, he can get to Brazil.”
