Franco Colomba concedes Parma’s 5-0 defeat to Inter was excessive and he risks his job, as director Pietro Leonardi “will evaluate the situation.”

The Ducali were crushed at San Siro, meaning they have picked up just four points in the last six rounds, during which they conceded 13 goals.

“We are very bitter at this performance,” admitted general manager Leonardi. “We are also worried at the repercussions a hammering like this could have on the season going forward.

“Tomorrow morning I will meet with the squad to clarify the situation and try to find a solution so we can turn this around. I don’t like talking about the Coach at a moment like this, because there is too much tension and one could say something dangerous or counter-productive. We prefer to consider this with a cool head.”

There had already been reports that Colomba was at risk ahead of this disastrous defeat at San Siro, so the Coach knows the result has done him no favours.

“I think the team allowed Inter to do things too easily, so they took full advantage,” said the tactician.

“We wasted our chances and at the end of the day paid an exaggerated price. Losing at San Siro is acceptable, but not like this. We’ve got to fix our problems at the back, as we are conceding far too many goals recently.

“I have a good rapport with the President and directors. We will discuss what we can do to improve the situation. Of course, a Coach needs to feel that the club has faith in him.”
