City mayor and AIC President Damiano Tommasi say Parma will play against Atalanta 'if conditions are met'.

The Ducali were forced to postpone their last two Serie A games as the club was unable to pay the costs and the staff for the event.

Mayor Federico Pizzarotti met with Tommasi and with the team today in yet another attempt to bring some order to the club.

“The game [between Parma and Atalanta, scheduled for March 8] will be played if the conditions for it are met,” said Tommasi to Sky Sports.

“If the tribunal accepts the provisional act on March 19 [when the club faces a hearing for bankruptcy], then we'll have the resources to take Parma's championship to the end.

“The Lega have an assembly scheduled to discuss Parma's situation and we're waiting for their response.”

Pizzarotti also confirmed that work is underway to keep the games going.

“I'd say the odds of seeing Parma-Atalanta are 50 per cent,” he said to Rai Sport.

“The players will keep training, while we're laying down a plan for the use of the stadium.

“But we need someone who can input some resources. Everybody here is doing their part.

“I don't think that bankruptcy is the best solution. I'd rather have continuity in the championship.

“Shutting everything down early takes away some opportunities. We're hoping for someone to buy the club on the fly, or perhaps by auction. We'll take whatever comes our way.”

Pizzarotti was attacked by Parma President Giampietro Manenti earlier today, who claimed that discussions of a sale would have to go through him.

“I agree with what he's saying,” said the mayor in response. “But many of those who are interested [in Parma] want to discuss this with someone represents the city.

“When you buy a football you must start a dialogue with its territory too. Maybe he still didn't know that.”
