Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi has given an update on the Sebastian Giovinco-Juventus and Fabio Borini-Roma situations.

The Ducali have co-ownership deals for both players and the deadline for reaching an agreement is on Friday.

Otherwise they will go to a blind auction, which sees both clubs write a figure in a sealed envelope and the highest bid wins full ownership.

Today the Parma website briefly had a statement confirming Giovinco’s move to Juventus, but that was then taken down.

“We still own half of his contract, but the negotiations to take him back to Juve are proceeding,” President Ghirardi told Sportmediaset.

“It would be the completion of his professional career trajectory. We have a good rapport with President Andrea Agnelli, but the deal has not been finalised yet. There are still a few little things to work through.”

Similarly, Italian international striker Borini was snapped up on a free transfer by Parma and immediately handed to Roma in a co-ownership agreement, but his future is still up in the air.

“There’s nothing to say Borini won’t stay in Parma,” added Ghirardi.

“Roma have to understand whether or not they really want the player, especially as he has received other proposals.

“Along with the Giallorossi, we’ve heard from a couple of overseas clubs and we have to think about getting the best value for Parma.”
