"Hope is always the last to die when you dream of having a great player like Amauri," Gialloblu President Tommaso Ghirardi told the Corriere dello Sport.

"It will certainly be a difficult operation to sign him, as his wages [€4m a season] are very high for us.

"Floccari too is a very strong player and he could strengthen us, but there is no immediate need to sign a striker.

"We'll remain calm as the market is open until August 30 as our present squad is already excellent as it is."
