Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi wants Gabriel Paletta to remain at the Stadio Tardini over the summer.

The Argentine has had an impressive campaign and the stopper has subsequently been linked with a possible transfer.

“Paletta is amongst the best defenders in Serie A,” Ghirardi told Radio Sportiva after the 27-year-old was paired with Napoli.

“I hope that nobody makes an offer for him at the end of the season and I hope that he doesn’t ask me to leave…”

The South American has scored one goal in 33 League games for the Gialloblu.

Paletta, formerly of Banfield and Liverpool, is in his third campaign at Parma following his 2010 move from Boca Juniors.
