The veteran tactician was named as a replacement for the sacked Franco Lerda on Wednesday.

Torino currently lie seventh in Serie B with 12 games remaining this season.

"It's tough," Papadopulo said. "I don't want to deceive anyone but I am hopelessly optimistic.

"The objective of Serie A must be reached. Other colleagues in my position would have refused.
