Alberto Paloschi has admitted that he harbours dreams of one day playing for the Italian national team.

The 22-year-old scored a hat-trick in Chievo's 4-2 win over Genoa on Sunday, and has conceded that he hopes to play for Cesare Prandelli's team soon.

“I've always wanted to score the winning goal for the Azzurri,” he told RTL. “But for now, I'll settle for the Under-21 European Championship [in Israel next year].

“I think the tournament's going to be an important window for me.”

He also remarked on his goals yesterday and dedicated them to his family after three months out with an ankle injury.

“I wanted to dedicate that to my family,” he said. “They have been there during the injury and the surgery.

“Now the injury has healed and I want to continue on this positive path.”
