Roma President James Pallotta insists he isn’t surprised by the club’s magical start to the Serie A campaign.

The Giallorossi sold the likes of Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, Marquinhos and Erik Lamela over the summer, but they have won all seven League games so far this term.

“I’m not surprised,” the American owner told journalists after landing at Rome’s Ciampino airport this morning.

“I told you a couple of months ago that we would be the biggest surprise, that this team was much better than people think and I still feel the same way.”

Pallotta has touched down in the capital ahead of Friday’s big Serie A clash against second-placed Napoli.

“It’s going to be fun,” Pallotta added. “The team is doing great, it has a great system, they look good and we just have to take care of business.

“It’s just one game though, but the players are ready.

“The title? We shouldn’t be talking about it now.”

Pallotta was also asked about the possibility that Napoli legend Diego Maradona will be at the Olimpico for the encounter.

“He said he was going to be there. You looking forward to it? I am too. I’ve never met him.”
