Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini reveals he “turned down €25m” in transfers to keep his stars for a swift return to Serie A.

The Rosanero were relegated in May and a potential takeover by businessman Paul Baccaglini was abandoned.

“I received offers from Serie A and Germany for Haitam Aleesami, Ivaylo Chochev and Mato Jajalo, who are all internationals and made their mark on the European stage,” revealed Zamparini on the official club website.
