Palermo have announced that they are to keep Coach Roberto De Zerbi after a run of seven consecutive defeats.
The club's official website posted confirmation of the decision accompanied by the following statement from President Maurizio Zamparini.
The eccentric owner also confirmed that he would remain at the club even after any potential takeover 'until Palermo return to Europe in the near future'.

"In order to avoid news that is untrue, despite an extremely difficult time and extremely negative results of the team – after carefully reviewing the performance yesterday with many issues and some positive notes in the performance of our players – I talked to our Mr. De Zerbi and I want to continue working with him, even if the path to salvation will be difficult.
"Certainly the reasons for the negative situation must be examined calmy. The squad built by the club covered the exits of [Stefano] Sorrentino, [Franco] Vazquez, [Acraf] Lazaar, [Alberto] Gilardino, [Enzo] Maresca, with the arrivals of Bruno Henrique, [Haitam] Aleesami, [Roland] Sallai, [Ilija] Nestorovski, [Alessandro] Diamanti, [Carlos] Embalo, [Slobodan] Rajkovic and [Alessandro] Gazzi). With an extensive series of injuries to [Alexsandar] Trajkovski, Rajkovic, [Giancarlo] Gonzalez, Embalo, [Norbert] Balogh and [Accursio] Bentivegna) men who the Coach saw as decisive.
"We will try with great determination to get out of this situation with De Zerbi, because I believe that different solutions would not bring more positive results. I communicated, given the news in today's Press, this is my decision about the Coach
