Palermo risk losing their big summer signing, as Instituto have formally refused to give Paulo Dybala his international transfer.
The 19-year-old striker was signed in July, but today Argentine club Instituto released a statement confirming they would not be completing the transfer because a €3.14m payment had not arrived.

The decision was also passed on to the Argentine Federation and to FIFA.
Palermo responded with their own statement tonight, insisting “despite what Instituto Atletico Central Cordoba claim, the money owed for Paulo Dybala’s transfer is just €2m.
“That debt will be paid when the Argentine club fulfils its obligations, first of all registering the transfer with the FIFA TMS system, as at the moment it is impossible for Palermo and the FIGC to request a transfer.
“The club also points out that without any guarantees and without being able to play Dybala in official matches, Palermo have already paid €2m to Instituto and €1.14m to the Associacion del Futbol Argentino.”
It looks as if the diplomatic row could drag on, meaning Dybala won’t be available for this weekend’s Serie A match.
