Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi has denied interest in Vincenzo Iaquinta, but hails Dorlan Pabon as “the most important signing of my career.”

There were reports the Ducali were looking to bring in veteran striker Iaquinta from Juventus” data-scaytid=”12″>Juventus after he spent six months on loan at Cesena.

“Iaquinta is of no interest to us. I think the Coach has a good squad at his disposal and we’ll evaluate whether or not new arrivals are necessary,” Ghirardi told Sky Sport Italia.

“Parma have already spent a lot of money this summer. Ishak Belfodil is a player we were tracking from last year, so when the chance to buy him from Lyon came up, we decided to make this investment. We’re convinced he can become one of the protagonists of this term.

“Pabon is the most important signing of my career at Parma. I hope he can prove to be a great bargain by following on from what he did in Colombia over the last two years.”

The 24-year-old Colombian international creative midfielder was snapped up from Atletico Nacional on a five-year contract.

“We also have Amauri back after he left good memories with us in his previous spell here. With Amauri, Belfodil and Pabon we can say that our front line is in great shape. We will probably sign a winger too.

“I told the lads to be humble and determined, but also ambitious. Last season was exhilarating with an excellent eighth place finish, so we must be modest to the right degree, always aiming high.”

Parma have to move on after selling the remaining 50 per cent of Sebastian Giovinco’s contract to Juventus for around €11m.

“It was a great move. Parma and Juve were the only ones not to underestimate him. I hope Giovinco can prove to be the top player Juve were looking for.”
