The Azzurri have been testing various attacking set-ups in training for this week’s World Cup qualifier, with Giuseppe Rossi back with the national team and Mario Balotelli then picking up an injury.

Neither striker is seen as in contention to start Friday’s test in Copenhagen, with Southampton’s Osvaldo speculated as set to lead the line.

Indications are that Diamanti and Candreva will be the supporting duo, whilst Thiago Motta, Riccardo Montolivo and Claudio Marchisio make up a midfield three.

Full-backs are speculated as Federico Balzaretti and Lorenzo De Silvestri, with Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Ranocchia sitting in front of Gianluigi Buffon.

Other reports indicate that in place of Candreva or Diamanti will play Emanuele Giaccherini.
