Victor Osimhen isn’t training with the rest of the team at Castel Volturno and seems increasingly likely to miss out on tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Liverpool.

The Nigeria international trained separately from the group yesterday due to a minor muscle injury he had suffered in the final minutes of Saturday’s Serie A clash with Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

He is not training at Castel Volturno this morning, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, who are attending the first 15 minutes of the session open to the media on the eve of the match.

Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti will provide the latest fitness update on the 23-year-old at a press conference later today.

According to Gazzetta, Osimhen wants to play, but Napoli’s medical staff don’t want to risk a more severe injury.

“He has a little issue with his adductor, but no lesion,” Napoli director Giuntoli said this morning.

“He and medical staff must decide what to do against Liverpool.”

Hirving Lozano will be available tomorrow, while Giacomo Raspadori is favourite over Giovanni Simeone if Osimhen is ruled out of the game.
