Udinese goalkeeper Simone Scuffet has officially joined Serie B side Spezia on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

With his route to Udinese’s goal blocked by Juan Musso, Scuffet will spend at least another year away from the club.

He made his debut in Serie A aged just 17, replacing the injured Zeljko Brkic in a match against Bologna in 2014, and went on to play 39 times for the Zebrette.

The 23-year-old was highly rated when he first burst on to the scene and had attracted interest from Atletico Madrid.

However, injuries and a loss of form saw the ex-Italy Under-21 international plummet down the pecking order at the Dacia Arena, and he played out the second half of last term at Turkish outfit Kasimpasa.
