The 2018-19 Serie B campaign has taken yet another turn as the CONI appeals court chief confirms the League has been suspended.
The confusion had seemingly been put to rest once and for all when the CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) judging panel deemed the appeal from Pro Vercelli, Novara, Catania, Siena and Ternana for the quintet to be entered into Serie B as inadmissable.

The confusion had seemingly been put to rest once and for all when the CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) judging panel deemed the appeal from Pro Vercelli, Novara, Catania, Siena and Ternana for the quintet to be entered into Serie B as inadmissable.
However, Pro Vercelli received the all-clear from the TAR tribunal in the Lazio region on Saturday to suspend that ruling and Franco Frattini conceded the second tier was in a state of flux until at least Friday.
“The Regional Administrative Court of Lazio, in addition to suspending the sentence, has suspended the League,” he told InBlu Radio.
“On Friday 21, the Guarantee Committee will review the issue in a completely new light and that’s when it’ll be decided if Serie B goes ahead with 22 or 19 teams.
“If it’s the former [22 teams], the three teams [who are promoted] will be decided on Monday.”
Serie B usually has 22 clubs, but when Bari, Avellino and Cesena went bankrupt the Lega Serie B opted to leave it at 19 rather than promote another three to replace them.
That is what prompted the legal battle from Pro Vercelli, Catania, Siena, Novara and Ternana, who were all hoping to get promoted to Serie B in place of the trio.
