Genoa have confirmed Cesare Prandelli’s arrival ahead of the former Italy CT being officially appointed as their new Coach.

Genoa tweeted a picture of Prandelli on Thursday morning with the caption that he had checked into their training complex at Villa Rostan.

“I’m fired up and I can’t wait to get started,” he told Il Secolo XIX.

Gazzetta dello Sport adds the 61-year-old will lead his first training session in the afternoon, before being presented on Saturday.

Prandelli, who replaces Ivan Juric, enjoyed success with Verona, Parma and Fiorentina, before taking Italy to the Final of Euro 2012.

However, his career has nosedived following spells with Galatasaray, Valencia and Al-Nasr, which lasted a combined 15 months.
