Genoa's Mattia Perin ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and will not be available for Euro 2016.

The goalkeeper will have to go under the knife tomorrow, and while an official recovery date has not been released, the injury is serious enough that he will certainly have to skip the Euros.

“Genoa Cricket and Football Club communicate that the medical exams on Mattia Perin revealed a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament with implications for the meniscus of the right knee,” reads a statement on Genoa's site.

“Tomorrow, on Wednesday April 13, Perin will be operated by Professor Pier Paolo Mariani at the Villa Stuart clinic.”
