Thiago Motta won’t be returning to Serie A this summer, as he’s renewed his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Italian international was expected to leave this summer, with rumours he could join Genoa or return to Inter.

However, the Ligue 1 side have announced this morning that the 34-year-old will stay at Parc des Princes.

“Paris Saint-Germain are pleased to announce the extension of Thiago Motta’s contract for another season,” a statement on PSG’s website announced.

However, the Ligue 1 side have announced this morning that the 34-year-old will stay at Parc des Princes.

“Paris Saint-Germain are pleased to announce the extension of Thiago Motta’s contract for another season,” a statement on PSG’s website announced.

“The midfielder is now tied to the capital club until June 30, 2018.

“Thiago Motta will continue his career as a player for another year, with the aim of boosting the club’s records and transmitting his immense experience to the whole group.

“Since his first appearance in Parisien colours against Evian TG, the midfielder has played 203 official matches, scoring 11 goals.”

Motta also spoke to the website about his new deal.

“It gives me great pleasure to extend my contract with Paris Saint-Germain. I have a special history with this club, which has put a lot of faith in me over these last five years.

“The adventure continues and I’m very happy. We’ll continue to be competitive and give everything to go as far as possible in all competitions in which we will participate.”
