Marko Marin has ended his loan spell at Fiorentina, and will spend the rest of the season at Anderlecht.

The German joined the Viola from Chelsea in the summer, hasn’t made a single appearance in Serie A, making just four Europa League appearances.

“The first signing by RSC Anderlecht in the winter transfer window is officially recorded,” the Belgian club confirmed on their website.

“The German midfielder Marko Marin arrives at the club on a temporary basis until the end of the season from Chelsea FC.”

The club’s general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck spoke highly of the new acquistion.

“RSC Anderlecht looks for quality, not quantity. The arrival of Marko Marin is a win-win deal for both parties.

“Here he can mature at the highest level and help Anderlecht achieve our ambitions.”

The German midfielder praised his new club, insisting they’re still a big name.

“I’m happy to give a new impetus to my career in a new environment,” Marin told the club’s website.

“Anderlecht are still a big name on the European scene, and I’ll do everything to help this great club win trophies.”
