AEK Athens have officially confirmed the return of Udinese winger Panagiotis Kone, who joins on loan.

The Greek international began his career with the Kitrinómavri, but has spent much of his career in Italy with Brescia, Bologna, Udinese and Fiorentina.

“AEK FC announces the transfer of Panagiotis Kone, who returns to our club after nine years,” a statement on the club’s website confirms.

The Greek international began his career with the Kitrinómavri, but has spent much of his career in Italy with Brescia, Bologna, Udinese and Fiorentina.

“AEK FC announces the transfer of Panagiotis Kone, who returns to our club after nine years,” a statement on the club’s website confirms.

“Panagiotis Kone was born on July 26, 1987 in Albania. He started his career in the Olympiakos academy and in 2004 he moved to Lens, at the age of 17.

“One year later he signed his first professional contract with AEK FC. During his first spell at our club he made 33 appearances and scored three goal from 2005 until 2008.

“In 2008 he signed for Iraklis and until 2010 he made 52 appearances and scored eight goals.

“In 2010 he moved to Brescia Calcio and the next season he was transferred to Bologna FC 1909, where he made 94 appearances and scored 13 goals.

“In 2014 he moved to Udinese Calcio, who retain his rights, where he made 43 appearances. During these three seasons in Udine he also played on loan for ACF Fiorentina and Granada CF.
