Mauro Icardi has officially signed a contract extension with Inter until June 2019.
The striker topped the Capocannoniere charts alongside Verona’s Luca Toni with 22 Serie A goals this season.
He had been in negotiations for months with the image rights a particular sticking point.
However, the issues were resolved and late Wednesday night Inter released a statement confirming he has signed the renewal.
The deal is believed to be worth €3m per year with image rights split 50-50 between player and club.

This ends speculation of a transfer to Atletico Madrid, who had been repeatedly linked with the forward.
This week Icardi’s agent had also confirmed Inter gave “permission” to speak to the Spaniards.
