Juventus have officially confirmed a one-year contract extension for Juan Cuadrado.

The Colombia international’s deal was automatically extended by one more season following his 40th appearance with the Old Lady against Cagliari last week.

His new contract will now expire in June 2023 and Juventus have confirmed his extension with an official statement.

However, the Bianconeri are still negotiating with his agent Alessandro Lucci over a longer deal for the 33-year-old. The Serie A giants would offer him a new contract until 2024 to spread his €5m-a-year salary and ower their wage bill.

Lucci is also the representative of Leonardo Bonucci and Mattia Perin. The goalkeeper has also extended his expiring contract in Turin until 2025. The Serie A giants announced a new agreement with the former Genoa star yesterday.

Cuadrado joined Juventus from Chelsea in 2015 and has scored 24 goals in 262 appearances with the Bianconeri. He has also played with Udinese, Lecce and Fiorentina in Serie A.
