Having returned to Turin this summer, the 21-year-old has struggled for playing time, making just two Serie A starts.

However, both Coach Massimiliano Allegri and general manager Giuseppe Marotta have assured that he is part of the long term strategy, and now the club have extended his contract.

Rugani's deal was due to expire in June 2019, but he will now remain with the Old Lady until June 2020, as revealed in the club’s half-year financial statement.
