Lazio winger Candreva had been among the most impressive performers for the Azzurri at Euro 2016 so far.

He sustained a thigh problem during the 1-0 win over Sweden and was rested for the 1-0 defeat to Ireland.

Today a note from the FIGC confirmed Candreva is unavailable for Monday’s match with Spain.

Alessandro Florenzi is an alternative on the right side of midfield, though he tends to play as a right-back at Roma.

Stephan El Shaarawy would come in to the left, moving Matteo Darmian or Mattia De Sciglio on to the right side.

Federico Bernardeschi was also rested today following a knock to the knee, but the note states he should be back in training tomorrow.
