Cagliari have officially announced that no Rossoblu members have tested positive for coronavirus.

The Sardinians have avoided a setback ahead of the resumption of group training and posted a statement on the club’s official website confirming that all players and members of staff are negative to the virus.

“The molecular and serological tests, carried out yesterday, gave a negative result for COVID-19 for all the people involved,” the club wrote. “The tests were carried out in the Assemini sports centre, by the health staff of ATS Sardegna.

“The medical screening of the players will continue with the cardiological visits to the Korian centre of Quartu Sant’Elena scheduled for today.”

Serie A has given the go ahead to resume group training on May 18, but under strict measures and the requirement of an isolation retreat before deciding to complete the championship.

Cagliari, who yesterday announced that the first-team squad has agreed to waive its salaries for the month of April, were 12th in the League before the forced break.
