Fiorentina have confirmed that Yohan Benalouane has signed from Leicester City after a dramatic day of twists and turns.

The former Atalanta defender was reported to have been completed earlier this afternoon, before a collapse after he said he wanted a guaranteed future move after the loan.

However, the Tunisian has been convinced of a move to La Viola as their long-running search for a defensive signing is finally completed.

The 28-year-old only moved to Premier League leaders Leicester last summer, but failed to break into Claudio Ranieri’s side and only made four appearances in the league.

“Fiorentina announce that they have reached an agreement for the temporary signing with the right to buy of Yohan Benalouane from Leicester City,” read a statement on the club’s website.

“Benalouane was born in Bagnols-surs-Ceze in France, on 28 March 1987 and has worn the shirts of Saint-Etienne, Cesena, Parma and Atalanta during his career”.
