Massimo Oddo wants Udinese to play as a team in order to ‘bridge the gap’ in quality between themselves and Roma.

The two teams lock horns in tomorrow’s Serie A clash, with the Giallorossi six places and 14 points better off than the Bianconeri.

Oddo is aware of the size of the task facing his players but believes his side will have to match Roma ‘blow for blow’ if they are to get anything from the match.

“In order to try to get points, we have to play a great game,” the Friuli boss told a Press conference.

“We need to play as a team, because that’s the only way we’ll be able to bridge the gap between the sides.

“We will need to do well to reduce the gap, with a desire to do well and to cause a surprise.

“There will be moments when we are more under pressure, but we need to be ready to go again and take it blow by blow.

“It’s a hard and difficult game where we face a team needing points to reach their objective.”
