Steven Nzonzi believes Roma “learned a lot” from their 3-3 draw with Atalanta and was impressed by the Stadio Olimpico atmosphere.

The Giallorossi were 3-1 down to a reshuffled Atalanta side, but clawed their way back to 3-3 with Alessandro Florenzi and Kostas Manolas.
“It’s never easy to come back from two goals down against a side that gave its all. We felt a little tired and got a good point in the end, even if we wanted to win,” the France international told Roma TV.
This was his Serie A debut after the transfer from Sevilla and he was booked 13 minutes after stepping on as a second half substitute.
“I feel good, and it’s true that I didn’t have much time in training, but I am in good shape psychologically too. I can only get better.
“It’s hard to say when I’ll be at 100 per cent, but the important thing is that the team reaches its peak. I’ll keep training and wait for my chance.
“I think this match will be a useful lesson going forward and we learned a lot from it. There are areas where we need to improve and Atalanta pushed hard, but the second half was positive and that bodes well for the future.”
Nzonzi got his first taste of playing at the Stadio Olimpico in a thrilling encounter.
“It’s a great stadium, the fans are very passionate and cheered us on to the end. That was positive, there’s a great atmosphere and I was surprised how fiery it was.”
