The death toll in Italy from Coronavirus has climbed to 148, an increase of 41 from yesterday, with 3,296 diagnosed positive for the disease.

A Government decree last night shut all schools and universities until March 15, with all sporting events played behind closed doors until April 3 to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Today’s update from the authorities confirms 3,296 people have been diagnosed with the Coronavirus in Italy, an increase of 590 from yesterday.

The death toll has jumped again, from 107 just 24 hours ago to 148 today.

There has also been a climb to 414 people who had the illness and have fully recovered, an increase of 138 from yesterday.

In a press conference in Rome, it was also noted all the deaths were people who had pre-existing health issues.
