UEFA has reportedly rejected the idea of implementing video assistant referees (VAR) in the Champions League next season.

UEFA’s Ordinary Congress took place on Monday, and Calciomercato reports the issue of VAR being used in the 2018-19 Champions League came up.

The technology has been experimented in Serie A and the Bundesliga this season, but the website notes “it hasn’t convinced” European football’s governing body.

VAR made its debut in Serie A at the start of the 2017-18 campaign but has yielded mixed results.
