Inter are expected to be a club to look out for this January on the transfer market, with Roberto Mancini apparently having drawn up a list of targets including Ezequiel Lavezzi.

However, the new Coach’s director general played down expectations and says Inter's strategy will only be long-term.

“Mancini wants to play the next three, four games first so he can get a sense of the squad,” said Fassone to the Corriere dello Sport.

“Only then will he update us on his requirements.

“Transfer operations in January are short-winded and turn out not to be very effective.

“Our objective is to prepare ourselves adequately for the transfer window in June, when we will move significantly from an economic and technical point of view.

“Now we shall only operate on long-term investments. We don't need to plug any leaks because our squad is already of a high level.

“If a good opportunity comes up we shall make good of it, otherwise we will wait.”
