Sampdoria have rejected claims that Napoli have made enquiries for Angelo Palombo and Andrea Poli.

Both midfielders have been linked with the Champions League qualifiers, especially after the Azzurri's move for Udinese's Gokhan Inler stalled.

However, new Sampdoria sporting director Pasquale Sensibile says it is all just paper talk for now.

"No Napoli official has come to me about Poli and Palombo," Sensibile told Radio CRC.

"However, even if they had come forward, I would have told them to return next week. Before making a decision on the futures of the two players I want to look into their eyes.

"We need to understand with what spirit our players will face the position that they currently find themselves in."

Doria are assessing all of their future moves after the club were surprisingly relegated from the top flight this term.

Napoli have also been associated with Fiorentina's central midfielder Marco Donadel today.
