Alvaro Morata won’t compare Juventus to his old club Real Madrid, but he reflects on how he needed the change in scenery this summer.

Morata swapped the Bernabeu for Juventus Stadium in the previous transfer window, and has had an impressive start to life in Turin, with four goals in his opening seven Serie A games.

However the 22-year-old would not be drawn on comparisons between the two clubs, even if the change in scenery was what he wanted.

“Madrid is the biggest club in Spain and Juve the biggest in Italy,” Morata told Cadena Cope’s ‘Play 12’ programme.

“If we talk at the end of the season I’ll tell you then who the best is.

“I’m very happy right now and I needed the change.

“Mentally I am very confident, although I think in any kind of work that’s fundamentally the same, but things are going much better and I’m enjoying things.”

Morata’s form has seen him earn a first call-up to Vicente del Bosque’s Spain squad, and the striker revealed that teammate and compatriot Fernando Llorente has offered words of encouragement.

“He [Llorente] wished me luck, told me to enjoy the experience, and said that he was really happy for me.

“It’s a dream to be here and I want to make the most of it, so I’m going to take in everything that is happening to me.

“Everyone has helped me, above all Sergio [Ramos] and Iker [Casillas]. Sergio is a great guy who gives me lots of advice, but the Coach has also told me I’m here on merit because of what I’ve done for my club, and I must seize this opportunity.”
